SteamVR 2.17 adds a bunch of new features, including a quick access menu for handy settings on the VR dashboard bar, letting you access Steam achievements and notes in-game in VR, and improvements to Steam Link streaming. Check out Valve’s full patch notes to see everything new.

With Remote Play, which will be available “starting this month,” you can invite people to play multiplayer games with you “from wherever they are” instead of requiring everyone to be huddled around the same TV.
People who host games will need an Amazon Prime or Luna Premium subscription, but multiplayer participants will just need an Amazon account.

After going offline in August because of “cease and desist letters” sent by X, the website for the open source project has an update dated September 7th saying that “Following legal advice, the Nitter project will continue.” XCancel, which uses Nitter, is also back.
The potential move was reported on by Bloomberg. Savvy, Saudi Arabia’s gaming arm of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), owns Scopely (behind mobile games like Monopoly Go and Pokémon Go), and the PIF led the recent take-private deal for EA.
With the app, you can press Alt + Space to pull up Gemini when you need it, Google says. Grab the app from Google’s Gemini website. Google launched a macOS app in April.
Apple’s website now shows the release date for the next major macOS update, which includes features like Siri AI, Liquid Glass refinements, and fixed window corners.
iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 will launch on September 14th, too.
Tagged posts will appear in reverse-chronological order on your grid, but you can also reorder them if you want.
The default one shows art from games you’ve played recently, but there’s also a “retro inspired” screensaver that features a bouncing Steam logo, lol.
Valve is also testing a “Big Art Mode” for your home screen that more prominently features art from your games. There are a bunch of other new features, too: read about them all in the new Steam beta update notes.

It’s an interesting video that gives you a better idea of how apps might look on the device. I really like all the different ways apps can appear based on the “pose” of the Duo, and I hope a lot of developers do the right things to make that all work. Apps that aren’t updated for iOS 27 SDK might look a little wonky, though.
